The Festivities are ON!

The twinkling of lights, the slight chill in the air, the insects around street lights and the smell of oil, is all an indication of Deepawali, the festival of light, hope, sharing and cheerfulness approaching. With just a week to go, the Early Years at MRIS-46, Gurugram is buzzing with preparations for the Diwali festivities. The festivities began by cleaning the classes and learning the importance of cleaning. Outside every class door,  the floor is decorated with ‘Rangolis’ depicting intricate designs; beautiful hand-made ‘Torans’ hanging on the doors, lanterns and ‘Rangoli’ crafts are ready to adorn the houses of the little MRites.

Celebration is incomplete without food. The sweet shops have their busiest time of the year; and so the little kindergartners have set up their own sweet shops within their classrooms in line with the theme ‘Festivals and Food’. The learning objective of counting, addition, money handling, creative and social skills have been integrated in the fun-filled activities and ignite the multiple-intelligence of the students.
