Go Green – Anti-Cracker Rally
To sensitize people on the harmful effects of crackers during Diwali, an anti-cracker rally was organised by Manav Rachna International School, Noida on October 13. The rally was flagged off by Mr Abhinandan (ASP) Gautam Budh Nagar, Noida. Recently, the sale of crackers was banned by the government in Delhi and NCR due to the increasing level of pollution. In support of this, students and teachers shouldered the responsibility to bring awareness among people regarding this critical situation and took a pledge, not to indulge in bursting crackers. Mr. Vinay Pratap Singh (SO) supported the school by providing police force for the safety of students. Mr Raghuvendra (SI) also motivated students by his presence. The students held banners, placards and shouted slogans, giving the message of not using crackers on this festival of lights. A street play was also performed by them at the busy market of sector-50. The rally went further to Logix mall, where students again performed the street play and urged people to celebrate green Diwali by using LED lights, diyas and candles. The team got an overwhelming response by the onlookers. Everyone appreciated the efforts put by the students and teachers for raising voice against such a sensitive issue. Mr. Charanjeet Arora and Mr Lovkesh Magu, Chairman and Executive Director of the school respectively, were also a part of the rally. The principal, Mrs. Nindiya Saket congratulated the efforts of children and motivated them to celebrate a pollution-free Diwali.
