Nothing beats the excitement of having a hands-on experience and the learning through it. The SEN department of MRIS-46 Gurugram organized a trip to Anandgram for the students on 25 November to give them such an experience.
Anandgram, a Sanskriti Foundation, was set up about 25 years back. It houses terracotta horses of Aiyanar, Tamil Village God and various textile forms. The students thoroughly enjoyed the clay statues of Terracotta form and textiles from different states of India. Anandgram also hosts innumerable articles showcasing the lifestyle of different periods in the Indian History like the Indus Valley civilization, the Mauryan Period, and the Post Mauryan Period.
A Pottery workshop was held there. The students and teachers both tried their hands on pottery which they found extremely interesting and meditative.
This trip was a break in routine and adventure that opens up children’s minds to new learning. Overall, it was a very good outing and a great learning experience for not only the students but the teachers as well.
