Getting them ready to face and make a difference to the world outside the school is the core of our every action on the campus. At Manav Rachna International School (MRIS), Sec-51, Gurugram, the final objective of our existence is producing confident and mature citizens of this country.
The need for Parent Child connection plays a vital role in familiarizing the parents about the methodology of MRIS and its thematic style of teaching. An orientation programme for Nursery to Grade VII was organized by MRIS-51, Gurugram recently to foster the ties with the parents of students through a mutual interaction.
The session began with the beautiful presentation of the orchestra followed by the lighting of lamp. The school Principal, Ms. Pooja Puri in her welcome address highlighted the school ethos and the critical role parents play in the overall grooming process of children. She also laid emphasis on the importance of discipline in a students’ life.
The programme was also graced by Ms. Goldy Malhotra. In her address, she briefed the parents about the school’s vision of inculcating human values, social responsibilities and environment consciousness in the young buds and also how the little ones should be nurtured with love, care and affection.
The Choir group ‘Waves’ left the audience spellbound with their mesmerizing presentation. A colourful power-point presentation made the parents aware about the rules and regulations of the institution, the co-curricular activities and assessment criteria for Grades Nursery-VII.
This session was followed by an enlightening session on ‘Healthy Parenting’ by the school counselor, Ms Ritika. She shared some useful tips on parenting as well as clarified doubts and queries of the parents. She also highlighted the importance of strong family bonding for the overall healthy growth of the children. It was indeed a very fruitful session for the parents who got to know about the examination system, co-curricular activities and parenting tips.
The parents were happy to see the model classrooms where in they tried their hands with various activities and had a deep understanding of the curriculum too. The Orientation day received an over whelming response from the parents. It proved to be an informative session between the parents and the teachers as well.
