“Wishing won’t keep you safe, Safety will”
A workshop was organised to inculcate professional attitude in the school transport and support staff through counselling session in order to raise performance standards and ensuring maximum output of assigned roles on campus by the school counselor, Ms. Geetanjali Kalia.
A power point presentation was showcased in the first session, depicting professional ethics expected out of each professional role in the campus. A story and several visuals were shared to ensure complete absorption of the concepts. A strong message that each misconduct carries along a stern action as children’s safety and security is a top priority, was shared.
Another session was conducted by the School Medical Officer Dr. Monica Kang on First Aid emergencies. The support staff is trained regularly to handle every contingency and ensure the safety of students. The importance and need of First Aid was explained to them. They were briefed about the elements of the first aid kit followed by a demonstration so that they can use it confidently in an hour of need. They were acquainted with all the basic emergencies to be dealt with such as bleeding, choking, fractures, wounds and sprains through a PowerPoint presentation. The session ended with hands-on training on the usage of first aid and “to do activities at the time of emergency”.
The workshop helped in instilling confidence in the staff and will help them in their personal as well as professional field. Principal Dr. Rupali Saini said that the Manav Rachna International Schools are very particular about the safety and security of the students and therefore, take initiative at regular intervals to generate awareness among the school transport and support staff for the smooth functioning of the school.
