“Sooner or later, we will have to recognize, that the Earth has rights, too, to live without pollution. What mankind must know is that human beings cannot live without Mother Earth, but the planet can live without humans.” -Evo Morales
The solemnization of “Environment Week’’ at Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana commenced with an anticipation and hope from the younger generation to understand and act judiciously. A special assembly was organized to sensitize students about their responsibility towards the Mother Earth.
It was followed by a marvellous enactment on the theme ‘Save the Environment’ by Grade VII students under the guidance of Ms. Sukhwinder Kaur, key facilitator. Ms. Kaur presented a sapling to the worthy Principal Dr. Rupali Saini.
Pinning her hopes on the younger generation, Principal Dr. Rupali Saini addressed the students as ‘Hope of Tomorrow’ and motivated them all to be vigilant in their actions towards the environment. She emphatically drilled the students with three R’s i.e. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
The weeklong celebration entails myriad theme specific learning activities e.g. Bird Feeder Making, Enactments to ‘Save the Environment’, Group Discussions to find ways to ‘Save the environment’ etc., for the students from Early Years to Grade X. These activities have been designed to instill the sense of responsibility among young learners towards the Mother Earth and to ‘Refuse’ to spoil the beautiful visage of the Mother Earth.
