Independence Day is the time to recall the famous Vande Mataram, the chant that gave us our freedom. Others might have forgotten but an Indian can never forget the sacrifices made by his ancestors. 72nd Independence Day was celebrated by MRIS, Charmwood on 13th August 2018 in the presence of Colonel H K Sethi and Ms. Sanyogita Sharma, Director-MRIS.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the National flag followed by a speech by the guests. The school choir set the pitch for the program with patriotic songs. The song and dance described the valour of our soldiers and paid homage to the efforts of the numerous freedom fighters of India. The highlight of the program was the enactment of the life of a defense personnel and how selflessly he serves his motherland. It urged today’s generation to value the freedom we have secured after the sacrifices of many precious lives. On the occasion, students were awarded for their excellent performance in sports.
Colonel H K Sethi urged the students to fulfill their duties and become a responsible citizen. Ms. Sanyogita Sharma encouraged them to come forward in building a strong country.
