“Yoga means addition- addition of energy, strength and beauty to your body, mind and soul.”

Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana always aims at holistic development of students. Apart from vigorous sports practice, the school has initiated to propagate ‘Wellness Program’ that promotes stress-free environment at the campus.

Under the ‘Wellness Program’, myriad forms of Yoga have been incorporated. Under the pervasive umbrella term- Yoga, Partner Yoga is a new addition that helps to create and nurture trust, strengthen communication and create a sense of laughter and light heartedness amongst students. Chair Yoga has also been added which aims at equipping students in relaxing their bodies and cheering them up for a cheerful day ahead. Many aspects of students’ overall health have been taken into consideration under this ‘Wellness Program’ e.g. prolonged sitting time, short attention span of students, stiffness in neck and bodies due to writing, lifting bags on their shoulders etc.

Students have welcomed this Wellness Program wholeheartedly. They enjoy light moments with their classmates. It infuses them with oodles of energy and strength for the entire day.

Speaking on the ‘Wellness Program’, Principal Dr. Rupali Saini expresses her heartfelt concern for her students. Dr. Saini avers that the emotional and physical aspect of these tender years pave way for the successful innings in future. We must consider the physical and mental needs of these children, if they are happy and stress free, they will study well and do well in the long run.

Hence, ‘Wellness Program’ at MRIS, Ludhiana has become an intrinsic part of the curriculum.
