Learning to recognize and create patterns helps cognitive development and is a basic component of mathematical and organizational thinking. The ongoing theme ‘Clothing and Textiles’ has been giving them a lot of exposure to variety of patterns.
To reinforce the same concept a ‘Pattern Parade’ was organized for Kindergartners. The children enthusiastically participated in the parade, wearing beautifully patterned dresses. They confidently spoke about the kind of pattern they were wearing and also could identify various patterns on their peer group dresses. After the parade, children also made different types of patterns like polka dots, checks, zigzag, floral patterns, etc. Children participated keenly and thoroughly enjoyed the session.
