WORLD TOURISM DAY CELEBRATED

“Let us work together to maximize the immense potential of tourism to drive inclusive economic growth, protect the environment and promote sustainable development and a life of dignity for all.”

This was the message given to everybody present. 27th Sept.’16 is being celebrated as World Tourism Day. The World Tourism Day celebration was started by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in the year 1980 which is celebrated every year at 27th September. This particular day was selected as at this day the laws of the UNWTO came into force in the year 1970 which is considered as the big landmark for the global tourism, as it aims to make aware people about the significant role of tourism inside the international community as well as to exhibit how the social, economic, cultural, political values are affected by it globally. Students were made aware of the fact, how they should love and respect their country and the tourist visiting every year so that they go back to their native country with good experience and memories about India. They were also explained that they as the citizen of India should not spoil the monuments by scribbling on them. Tourism has become the continuously growing and developing economic sectors worldwide because of the occurrence of various attractive and new destinations for the tourists. So it has become the main source of income ‎for the developing countries. This explanation was given to students to understand the importance of Tourism for a nation.
