India’s 3rd national festival, Gandhi Jayanti, is celebrated by the entire nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of our nation- Mahatama Gandhi. MRIS-46, Gurgaon has also celebrated Bapu’s birthday in the school, with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism. The assembly, conducted by the students of the school, began with a special tribute to Gandhi ji. The Students gave a brief introduction on the life of Gandhi ji and his role in attaining freedom for India. A student from Early Years came dressed as Mahatma Gandhi and tiny tots beautifully sang ‘Raghupati Raaghav Raja Ram’. The little ones were later given a taste of cooperation by getting involved in an activity, where in they were given a chance to use the spinning wheel.
The students from primary wing shared anecdotes from Gandhiji’s life and sung songs, glorifying Gandhi ji and how he heralded a new era for our country. Going a step forward in helping the children understand all about the freedom struggle and the role of Mahatma Gandhi in helping us gain independence, the students from middle and senior wing conducted a quiz and presented a short skit. They gave an account of how Mahatma Gandhi led our nation in the fight for freedom and sacrificed his life for social equality.
