Tiger’s Day

MRIS, Ludhiana celebrated International Tigers’ Day on 29th July, 2016 to generate awareness amongst the young minds on the importance and significance of tiger conservation. The Early years children created their paper plate tigers take away crafts. The movie- Madagascar was also shown to the little ones. Information related to tigers was shared with them. They enhance their vocabulary by learning words like- extinct, protection, expansion, stripes, carnivore, cubs, ambush and streak. A special morning assembly was conducted by the students of Grade II. The students spoke about the endangered tigers, the reasons why they are being killed and their role in the ecosystem. They also recited a poem on tigers. The students of Grades I, II and III created eye masks as their take away craft. An Art Competition was organised for Grades I to V from 12th July, 2016 to 15th July, 2016. This competition was organized for children to commemorate ‘World Tiger Day’. The participants came enthusiastically and showed their immense talents with confidence. There was 100% participation of students from each class. They even managed to include a social message in the descriptions. These posters were displayed in the classrooms.The students were very excited and they participated whole-heartedly in this competition. It gave our children this wonderful opportunity wherein they got to share and express their thoughts on tiger conservation. The teachers were awe struck to see the little one’s creativity and confidence.
