The call of the Koel, the aroma of ripened wheat, the dhol beats reverberate in the air, the jovial spirits break into the lively dance! It is Baisakhi. YES! It is Baisakhi!
It was a day full of fun and excitement in MRIS-51, Gurugram where the Students presented an assembly on Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti. Students came dressed in traditional attire and explained the significance of Baisakhi.
A mesmerizing Bhangra presentation by the Students fascinated everyone. They also spoke about how the festival is celebrated in other regions of India with different names as Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra, Baisakhi in Punjab, Rongali Bihu in Assam, Ugadi in Andhra Pradesh etc. They mesmerized everyone by reciting a shabad.
The ceremony was commemorated by Baisakhi Community Feast where children enjoyed food in a traditional way. Assembly concluded with a bhangra performance on a peppy number.
