Basking in the ever inspiring and glorious journey of the successful Group Discussion Events at Manav Rachna – GD MANIA-2013, GD Pro – 2014, GD Pro – 2015, covering more than 30 educational institutions and about 6000 participants in the past, Manav Rachna has launched an exclusive national level competition on Group Discussion for school students – “GDPro Junior 2016”. The competition will be graced and judged by some of the most eminent personalities of education, sports, art & culture and corporate world. Top names from the education industry have also shown keen interest and partnered with us in this success saga. GD Pro Junior is a national level Inter-school Mega event.One of the preliminary rounds of GD Pro Junior was held at MRIS LDH on 3rd Aug, 2016 by Career Development Centre of Manav Rachna International University.
A workshop was conducted by Mr. Nitesh, Manager, CDC, Manav Rachna in the premises of MRIS, Ludhiana. He made his presence felt in the historical event organised in house by MREI. Group discussion has his prevalence and application at both Corporate and Academic levels. Mr. Nitesh emphasized upon the significance of group discussion to be conducted among this age group where students can apply the communication technique in their day today life to yield constructive outcomes. The Judges of the day were Mr. Rohit Sinha , Co-Founder & Director Fisheries India , Ms. Richa Kalsi, Co-founder Dreamcarmodels.com, Ludhiana, Dr. Gopika Talwar Asst . Professor, Gadvasu University, Ludhiana and Ms. Malka Kaur, Language facilitator MRIS, Ludhiana. Around 150 students participated in GD Pro Junior at MRIS LDH. The students who cracked the preliminary round followed by the quarter finals would now be competing with students from schools all over the country in the semi-finals followed by finals to be held on 6th Aug, 2016 at MREI Faridabad. Dr. Roopali Trehan, Director, MRIS LDH presided over the event .Laying stress on the overall development of the students, she remarked that GD Pro Junior intends to address this literary need of the students along with enhancing the presence of mind, analytical skills, teamwork, innovation, leadership skills and most importantly applied communication skills. She congratulated the Principal for undertaking the initiative to host GD Pro Junior. Ms. Shilpi Gill, Principal, MRIS LDH thanked the Career Development Centre for offering a wonderful platform to the students to learn the nuances of group discussion.
All the students were extremely delighted to be a part of GD Pro Junior. One of them remarked, “It was indeed a remarkable experience; exchanging views with students from other school on the concerns of the day thrilled me and also helped me asses my own potential.” Ms. Gill appreciated the students for their enthusiasm to showcase their intellectual acumen and also their drive to be the harbingers of change in the society. She also expressed her gratitude to the participating teams for making GD Pro Junior a huge success. Ms. Gill committed that MRIS LDH shall continue undertaking similar initiatives in the times to come.
