Theater is all about challenging how we think and encouraging us to fantasize about a world we aspire to achieve.
The Students of MRIS-46, Gurugram learnt Theater through a 6 day hands on theater workshop conducted by Mr. Yuvraj Sharma, an alumni of NSD and a renowned theater artist. Over a period of time, the Students learnt that theater was more about reacting and less about acting. They not only learnt to become more eloquent and expressive but also picked up the essentials of self discipline, body language, intonation, team work, synchronization and the importance of each character irrespective of the part he/she plays in the act.
The session culminated with a performance showcased for the parents of participating students. The presentation began with each participant sharing his/her experiences and learning. Impressive short acts were put across by the Students. The young artists displayed various everyday life scenes and brought them alive with their expressions. They used the human body to show various machines like the treadmill, sewing machine and television. Scientific ideas of distillation and indicators were well explained through the medium of theater. Parents appreciated the confidence and spontaneous unscripted acts put across by their children..
