“Storytellers have as profound a purpose as any who are charged to guide and transform human lives.”
— Nancy Mellon
Grandparents have vital role in the growth and development of children. Their stories not only enrich the vocabulary, but also open up the children’s minds to new horizons; they nurture imagination and help the children deal with a wide array of emotions. The importance of story-telling cannot be undermined. At MRIS, we constantly strive to inculcate good value of respecting elders and learning from their rich experience. To strengthen the bond, we held a Story Narration by Grandparents for the children of Grade-I. The grandparents were asked to narrate their favorite story to their grandchild and his/her classmates. It was heartening to see how enthusiastically the grandparents participated and narrated stories with lot of love The other side of the same coin was that the children listening to the story were cheering and appreciating their effort. Children love stories, and a day that was full of stories had to be nothing short of excitement, enrichment and enthusiasm.
