Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana understands the integral role a school can play in the proper development of the students so that they mature to become valuable assets of the country and the world at large. Holistic development of the students is possible only when they are physically fit. MRIS, Ludhiana ensures opportunities for the students to engage in sports.
The school observed ‘Sportek’ for Grade IV-IX from 19th to 23rd of March. Various competitions were arranged for the students. The games field displayed mass student participation splattering vibrance all around the campus. The students were full of enthusiasm while competing for various races such as dribbling the ball zig zag race. They exhibited patience and stability wonderfully through lemon and spoon race. Other track events included tunnel race sack race relay events commando race 100 mts flat race shot put competition table tennis competition Badminton competition as well as team events such as tug of war, cricket, etc.
The excitement and curiosity could be seen on the faces of the children as everyone was eagerly waiting for their names to be announced. The Principal congratulated the winners and encouraged the students to indulge more in physical activities rather than engaging themselves with the electronic gadgets. The enthusiastic week ended with a feeling of sportsmanship and team spirit. She also reiterated that body is the only tool that enables us to perform various roles and live a happy life.
