Festivals in India are synonymous with yummy and scrumptious food served at each occasion. Being a multi-cultured country, India boasts of a plethora of festivities and festival delicacies. To make the children aware about the wide variety of dishes associated with various festivals, ‘Delicacy Day’ was organized for the Kindergarteners of MRIS- Sector14, FaridabadThe teachers dressed ethnically—representing specific festivals and shared information about those festivals. Children were introduced to customary greetings in various languages. The stories behind the selected festivals like Navratri, Holi, Eid, Gurpurab, Durga Puja and Christmas were also informed to the students. Children tasted various dishes and understood the relevance of food.  They shared food with each other, thus learning to respect other religions and cultures. They were also made aware that our country is an amalgamation of different cultures where everyone prays to the almighty in different ways and has different foods as delicacy for the occasion, but still are united.

Principal, Ms. Mamta Wadhwa and Headmistress, Ms. Monika Kathuria were impressed by the efforts of the teachers and encouraged them with their words of appreciation.
