Students leave their mark at International Yoga Festival

The voyage of victory has always been unabated at MRIS, Ludhiana, thereby grounding the students to accept new challenges and pathways in the course of their journey towards success. Yoga is an essential element of physical as well as cognitive strength provided in the school campus.

An exclusive addition to the array of victories of MRIS: Students have made us proud by bringing laurels from 7th INTERNATIONAL YOGA FESTIVAL MASS YOGA WORLD RECORD-2019 held at Thailand recently. Ziana Grover of Grade I-A secured the first position in the Artistic Sola Yoga and second position in the Artistic Pair Yoga U-8 category.

Fateh Singh of Grade I-A secured second position in Artistic Pair Yoga and third position in Artistic Sola Yoga; and Prabhgun Kaur of Grade III-A bagged first position in Athletics Yogasana Championship adding another feather to MRIS cap.

Students of Manav Rachna International School (MRIS), Sector 51, Noida have achieved excellence in the CBSE Class X results announced today. The school campus erupted with celebrations as the unanimous effort of students and teachers has brought in fabulous scores, keeping up MRIS tradition of brilliance.

34 students from the school sat for the Class X Board exam this year and proved their mettle by achieving 100% result. Ms. Nindiya Saket, Principal of the school congratulated the students on their brilliant performance.

Ansh Singhal is the TOPPER with an aggregate of 96% marks. Samarth Soni secured second position by scoring 94.2%. Manan Agarwal, Saumya Srivastava and Riya Singh scored third position with 93% marks. Gaura Kukreti scored fourth position with 91.4% marks.

13 students (out of 34) have secured 90% and above, while 32 secured first division.

Prodigies shine at VEZOLUTION MUN 2019

The young prodigies of Manav Rachna International School, Sector -14 Faridabad left their mark at Vezolution’19 held at Delhi Public School, Sector -19 Faridabad recently. Manav Rachna has always paved way for child’s overall excellence and makes them open to worldwide pedestal. Students performed impeccably well solving some of the most daunting issues by gaining the most comprehensive delegate experience via debating and idea exploration.

Moreover, students bagged the Best School Delegation Award with individual recognitions adding feathers to the MRIS crown. Aryan Jain and Arshi Singh bagged High Commendation; Jatin Goyal was titled the Best Delegate; Paras Burra, Daksh Bansal, Shreyas Khanna, Krishnav Kathuria and Vedh got High Commendation; Anubhava Singla and Kavya Bajaj got Verbal Mention. The school feels proud and congratulates the geniuses for this feat.

Career Exploratory Program Students in USA

“Just to travel is rather boring, but to travel with a purpose is educational and exciting”

10 students of MRIS, Charmwood accompanied by their teacher Ms. Jyoti Singla went on a Career Exploratory program to the East Coast, USA from May 28, 2019 to June 8, 2019 where they visited Orlando, New York, Washington DC, and Boston.

Students had a wonderful exposure to the aeronautical industry during their visit to the Kennedy Space Centre and got an opportunity to interact with an astronaut. They got a chance to experience simulations of shuttle launch, and gained insights about the life of an astronaut as they viewed Atlantis exhibits and learned the inside story of the mission to Mars in Orlando. They had a fun-filled day at the Island of Adventures and then at SeaWorld. They visited the capital city of USA, where they visited the National History Museum and had an informative session with tour guides about various famous monuments like the Capitol Hill, Lincoln Memorial, White House and Washington Tower.

The thrill at New York began with a visit to the Statue of Liberty. They learnt about coordination of body, speech and mind as important skills for a career in theatre, at a workshop on theatre at Broadway. First hand exposure to NYC stock exchange and working cultures was given to the students at the Wall Street. They had a visit to United Nations headquarters, where they witnessed an on-going session of the General Assembly.

They were able to explore the campuses of MIT, Harvard, and the Berklee College of Music. They were given a hands-on experience to robotics at a workshop at MIT and climate change workshop at Harvard.

It was an enriching experience for the students with fair mixture of fun, adventure and experiential learning.

Summer Camp 2019 at MRIS Mohali concludes with high expectations!

The children and parents at MRIS Mohali Summer Camp beat the heat on the culmination day of the camp. Parents participated in all the activities that their children took up during the camp. The children flaunted their takeaways from the camp and made their parents proud with their achievements. All the children were awarded participation certificates. Executive Director, MRIS Mohali, Mr. Sunny Bansal and Ms. Aarti Bansal released a book titled ‘Ink on Wings’, a compilation of stories written by the children of the ‘Young Authors’ program. They appreciated and commended the efforts, dedication and hard work of the mentors, and also congratulated the children and thanked the parents on the successful culmination of the camp.

Principal MRIS Mohali stated that “Summer Camp at MRIS is like a concoction of learning and fun, a time to break away from the usual classroom routine, a place rich enough to provide a fun-filled learning environment, which allows children to be at their best”.

A Career Exploratory Programme was organized for the students to give an impetus to their futuristic vision. This 13 day international excursion was full of adventure, excitement and zeal to explore and get enriched by the myriad experiences.

The Career Exploratory Module initiated by visiting the Kennedy Space Centre at Orlando as a stimulating experience enveloped with Shuttle Launch, guided tour to the Saturn V Centre and a fantastic exhibition. Encounter with adventure at Universal Studio –The Best Theme Park in the world was an added flavor to excite their imagination.

Various added attractions included knowing the Sea World, enjoying all the rides and shows, guided exploration of Washington DC, the National Building Museum and the Smithsonian Museum of National History.

The enchanting journey continued to New York City, Statue Of Liberty, The Wall Street, The Times Square etc. In Boston, The Harvard University and The Berklee College of Music were a source of magnetism for the inquisitive enthusiasts of MRIS.

The school sensitizes its treasured students in becoming optimists to face challenges and to adjust the sails in their journey to attain greater heights in life.

Internship  at Neofusion Creative Foundation

‘To reach out and touch lives is the best way to establish connections’.

A group of empaths of Grade IX to XII from  MRIS-46, Gurugram worked very closely with the young children of the Neofusion Creative Foundation, as mentors and interns, from June 1-14, 2019.

Neofusion is a nationally certified non-profit organization, which commenced working with the underprivileged adolescents through art and education to create awareness about opportunities and skills that can be acquired to make a living and life skills.

The young interns took on group teaching and counselling within small groups of the children enrolled with the Foundation. They thought of and implemented various teaching strategies to teach the children in innovative ways. They established an excellent rapport with these enthusiastic learners who emphatically, agreed that they would love to have all the ‘Didis’ and ‘Bhaiyyas’, to come back and teach them once again.

MRIS-14 Students get an exceptional Career Insight in USA

‘A child is a divine gift of God. The greatest power that man can endow his progeny with -is Education’.

Manav Rachna International School through its International linkages has always justified the meaning and spirit of its motto “Global Perspective Indian Values”. As a part of this, 23 students and 2 teachers experienced an educational tour to the East Coast, USA recently.

 

They had the unique opportunity to embark upon a fun-filled tour of NASA which incorporated the life-changing experiences. Exploring further, they landed in Orlando where wonders awaited them. After a lively day at the Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, the students went on to visit the Kennedy Space Centre. The shuttle launch experiences and interactions with a real-life astronaut were real eye-openers.

It was a lifetime opportunity to induce the spark to acquire knowledge about Astronomy. The launch pads as a historic spots where from the Astronauts took off in rockets to mark history were viewed by them. They witnessed the space suits and various equipments used in space along with the models of various types of rockets used in the past. The video recordings on the life of astronauts in Space and the first man on moon were truly outstanding and inspiring. The view of the two space shuttles Discovery and Atlantis was eye opening.

 

Besides this, the visit to The White house, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, the adventurous Sea World, and The National Mall was really exemplary. The Museums in Washington – Smithsonian, Spy museum, National Geographic, National Archives etc were enlightening and informative. The tour of the New York City and the Times Square mesmerized everyone. Taking the lead in the visits, the team also had first-hand exposure to NYC Stock Exchange, Wall Street, UN Headquarter, and they attended a General Assembly Session. Another add on to their travel was visit to MIT Campus and Berklee College of Music. This gave them an opportunity to attend workshops on robotics and climate change at Harvard University.

 

Overall, this tour was an overwhelming and enlightening experience for the students as well as teachers. Such trips help broaden the spectrum of a child’s dreams and develop in them eagerness towards technological advancement beyond their realms.

De-stressing and Unwinding with Yoga on International Yoga Day

Manav Rachna International School Noida observed International Yoga Day with much fervor today. The teachers and administrative staff along with the Principal Ms. Nindiya Saket performed different yoga postures and were also enlightened on the benefits of yoga, yogic exercises, recharging the body with cosmic energy and promoting self-healing process. The motive was to de-stress and create a calmer, happier and relaxed working environment for each and every member in the team.

‘Speak Easy- A language Development Initiative’ for Support Staff

Success is a relative term; you just have to better than you were yesterday. With this motto, the 5th phase of the ‘Speak Easy– A language Development Initiative’ commenced at MRIS- Sector 14, Faridabad though with a difference. This one week session focused on building and enhancing the skills of the support staff.  With Solidarity and Team building as the core postulates of our pedagogy, the workshop enabled the class nannies and other housekeeping staff to indulge in role plays and build confidence in their English speaking abilities. They were also given general vocabulary words from which they were to create sentences and hold a conversation. The workshop was received with an overwhelming response from enthusiastic learners. With smiling faces and confident demeanour, they were able to express jubilation at being able to converse in English with their children and peers.

Teachers Training Program

With this thought, MRIS Mohali conducted a two-day rigorous training for the school teachers in the school premises. All the teachers of MRIS Mohali along with 35 teachers of MRIS Ludhiana attended the training conducted by the Academic Excellence Team of MRIS. The resource persons were experts with years of profound experience in their respective fields.

The teachers were educated about the latest methodology, session planning, and teaching practices to be adopted essentially to nurture 21st century thinkers. Ms. Taruna Vashisht, Principal MRIS Mohali said, “Such trainings are vital to equip our teachers to prepare the leaders for tomorrow.”
